Dr. James Wharton has been practicing dermatology in northwest Arkansas since 1988. He earned his Bachelors of Science in biology from Duke University in 1990. He earned his medical degree form the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1994 where he graduated first in his class. He then served a one year internship in Internal Medicine at UAMS. Dr. Wharton then completed a three year residency in dermatology at UAMS.

In addition to his private practice Dr. Wharton has in the past served as an assistant professor for UAMS, worked as an officer in the Arkansas State Medical Society and serves as medicare liaison for Arkansas Dermatologists.
